Hey Salonee, how are you doing?

So GRE is a standard entrance exam that is required for admission to various universities abroad. It’s necessary or not for you, would depend on the course that you wish to pursue and the universities that you’re targeting for the same because the entrance exam requirement varies across courses and universities.

Why don’t you tell me more about the course you wish to pursue and the list of universities that you’re targeting? Maybe then I would be able to check if GRE is required for you or not.

The requirement for the GRE in Master’s programs in Computer Science in the USA varies by university. While traditionally, many institutions have required it as part of the application process, there is a growing trend, especially post-2020, where universities are waiving this requirement. Some schools have adopted a test-optional policy, which means that submitting GRE scores is no longer mandatory, though it may be beneficial for your application.

To determine whether you need to take the GRE, you should visit the graduate admissions page of the universities you are interested in. This information is usually clearly stated under the admissions requirements section.
