Studying in colleges and universities outside of India comes with a long list of prerequisites that must be met before admission to the respective university. The language proficiency test, which is one of the first and most important criteria for admission into most colleges abroad, is the first thing that comes to mind when considering moving abroad for further studies. There are, however, many universities around the world that offer various programmes for studying abroad without IELTS. If you have a previous degree in English or have completed your education in English-speaking countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States, you will be exempt from taking IELTS. After your application is accepted, you will only need to pass the video/personal interview round. Universities offer a variety of alternatives for evaluating English for students who want to study abroad but do not have IELTS.

Some universities waive English language proficiency tests for students who have lived or studied in a country where English has been the primary language of instruction for the previous four years.
Students with excellent communication/soft skills are exempt from providing IELTS scores as well.
Pearson Academic Test (PAT), Duolingo English Tests (DET), Cambridge Advanced Exam (CAE), ACT (American College Testing) English test, SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), AP language and composition exam, AP English Literature and Composition exam, and others are available as alternatives. Universities abroad will accept your application if you provide test scores from any of the listed tests.
