Italy does provide free education to international students at public universities, but there may be some fees for administrative costs and enrollment. However, some private universities may charge tuition fees for international students.

There are several scholarships available for international students to study in Italy. Some examples include:

  1. The Italian Government scholarships are offered to international students by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation, and a monthly allowance for living expenses.
  2. The Erasmus+ program offers scholarships to students from participating countries to study or work abroad, including in Italy.
  3. The Dante Alighieri Society scholarships are offered to students from non-EU countries who are studying the Italian language and culture.
  4. The "Uni-Italia" scholarships for non-EU students to study in Italy, these scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation, and a monthly allowance for living expenses.
  5. The "Study in Italy" scholarships for non-EU students, these scholarships are offered by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Italian Cultural Institutes

It is possible to study in Italy without IELTS (International English Language Testing System) for certain programs or universities. However, many universities and programs in Italy do require proof of English proficiency, and IELTS is one of the most commonly accepted tests.

If you are applying to a program taught in Italian, you may not be required to provide proof of English proficiency. However, if the program is taught in English, then it is likely that the university will require proof of English proficiency such as IELTS, TOEFL, or others.

Some universities accept other tests like TOEFL, PTE, or Cambridge Advanced English Exam as proof of English proficiency. Some universities may also accept an English language certificate obtained in high school or an English language test taken in their country of origin.

It's also worth noting that some universities may offer English language classes or programs to help international students improve their language skills.

I hope this answers your question. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any further queries.

Studying in colleges and universities outside of India comes with a long list of prerequisites that must be met before admission to the respective university. The language proficiency test, which is one of the first and most important criteria for admission into most colleges abroad, is the first thing that comes to mind when considering moving abroad for further studies. There are, however, many universities around the world that offer various programmes for studying abroad without IELTS. If you have a previous degree in English or have completed your education in English-speaking countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States, you will be exempt from taking IELTS. After your application is accepted, you will only need to pass the video/personal interview round. Universities offer a variety of alternatives for evaluating English for students who want to study abroad but do not have IELTS.

Some universities waive English language proficiency tests for students who have lived or studied in a country where English has been the primary language of instruction for the previous four years.
Students with excellent communication/soft skills are exempt from providing IELTS scores as well.
Pearson Academic Test (PAT), Duolingo English Tests (DET), Cambridge Advanced Exam (CAE), ACT (American College Testing) English test, SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), AP language and composition exam, AP English Literature and Composition exam, and others are available as alternatives. Universities abroad will accept your application if you provide test scores from any of the listed tests.

Italian universities are proud of their history and rankings. More than a dozen international degree courses are taught in English at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Tor Vergata, founded in 1982, has been ranked as one of Europe's best young universities, with high student satisfaction and far-above-average employment rates for its graduates. Italy also has some of Europe's best business schools, such as the prestigious SDA Bocconi in Milan, the country's financial capital. Its MBA programmes consistently rank first in global and European rankings, and its alumni include many top business leaders. These and many other Italian universities are stepping up efforts to accelerate internationalisation and offer degree programmes tailored to international students. There are currently over 500 English-taught study programmes in the country. And there are more and more English opportunities to study in Italy every year. Italy is a low-cost study destination in Europe. While accommodation and living costs can be high in large cities such as Rome or Milan, smaller cities are significantly less expensive. Larger universities usually assist students in finding affordable housing; with luck, you may be able to find a room in a student home. Italy's public universities are also relatively inexpensive in comparison to other European countries. Public universities in Italy typically charge around 1,000 EUR per year. Prestigious universities with high rankings may charge more. The University of Rome Tor Vergata is an exception, with tuition fees tied to your family's financial situation: You are charged from a minimum of around 150 EUR to a maximum of around 5,000 EUR per year, depending on your income. Here is a list of top Italian universities that you can target once you have decided which course to pursue:

Ca' Foscari University of Venice
ESCP Business School
Global Campus of Human Rights
Luiss University
Politecnico di Milano
Politecnico di Torino
Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies
Sapienza University of Rome
SDA Bocconi School of Management
Università Iuav di Venezia
Università IULM

What are the chances that an average student can get full scholarship in Italy, USA, UK?

International study can be costly, so it is worth your time to look for any hidden scholarships you may be unaware of. Many people fail to capitalise on the fact that they have a direct connection to people who have spent literally decades dealing with student scholarships. Your school's admissions office and various college advisers can point you in the right direction for finding great scholarships. You should inquire with your advisers about any specific scholarships they are aware of. Furthermore, you should inquire about other general approaches you can use to find even more scholarships. Many international students are unaware that large corporations frequently offer scholarships. Indeed, if you Google the top 100 businesses along with the word "scholarship," you will most likely come across numerous scholarship opportunities. It's fantastic to have a long list of scholarships to apply for. However, if you apply too late, it will be useless. By applying as soon as possible, you can increase your scholarship funds. This tip can help you earn thousands of dollars more than you would otherwise. When it comes to international study scholarships, size does not matter. Quality is also essential. Give each application the time and attention it requires. You can submit 100 applications for international student scholarships.

However, if your applications aren't very good, you're unlikely to win any scholarships. It may be preferable to complete only ten applications thoroughly. There are some scholarship opportunities that almost no one is aware of. A duct tape company, for example, offers a $10,000 scholarship to students who make a prom dress out of duct tape.

You may wish you knew how to apply for international student scholarships the more you learn about them. Finding the right information on how to apply for international student scholarships can make all the difference.
