South Korea has made a place for itself among the top chosen destinations for higher studies. With its world-class levels of schooling, it has been included in the list of countries with the best education system. With a large section of the population holding a tertiary education degree, South Korea is counted as one of the most educated countries in the world!
South Korea is chosen by aspirants who wish to pursue an MBA abroad because of multiple reasons, the primary one being the job market.

Aspirants planning to pursue MBA in South Korea must meet the essential eligibility criteria for securing admission to South Korean Universities for MBA. -

- Students must hold a bachelor’s degree in any related subject.
- Students must appear for TOEFL, GMAT, and IELTS and secure valid scores.
- Different universities have different eligibility criteria; students must make it a point to read the eligibility criteria of each university before applying.

For students who need financial assistance, a few scholarships are also provided to cover the studying expenses incurred. Listed below are the scholarships available:

Sol Bridge International Scholarship – the Sol Bridge International School of Business, offers Sol Bridge Admission Scholarships. It provides partial funding for international students applying for MBA programs.

Forte Fellowship Programme – Offered by Forte Foundation. Provides partial funding to international students pursuing MBA. Students eligible for this scholarship are: Open to all nationalities.

Amba 50th Anniversary Scholarships – This scholarship is awarded to those who pursue MBA in Business and can be taken at AMBA-accredited Business Schools only.

I hope this was helpful. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

I won’t lie and start giving you scholarship names that are not relevant here. South Korea is a good study abroad option, but it is not as popular as you might think. A lot of international students prefer the USA, UK and Canada as countries for higher education. Therefore the number of scholarships differs in all these locations.

It doesn’t mean that there are no scholarships provided to study in South Korea that covers all the expenses. But they are small in numbers. For instance, in my years of experience, I only know a few ones that I know are good. If I have to recommend, I would go with these ones -

  • SUNY Korea Scholarship
  • KNU International Graduate Scholarship
  • The Undergraduate & Graduate Korean Government Scholarship

These are the ones that work for multiple universities in South Korea with multiple disciples. It means if you target these scholarships, you will be able to target many subject degrees in South Korea. I know a few more nice scholarships there but those are university-specific. If you have mentioned any university in South Korea, I would have suggested particular ones that that university offers.

Finally, I want to suggest that you should go with your guts. If you want to study in South Korea, good. But also keep an open mind, because it's likely that some popular programs are not available there as the country doesn't have too many international universities. If you are interested in other areas or want to know some specific details regarding South Korea just let me know.

One of the unique experiences a student may have is studying abroad. Students are drawn to study abroad because of the diverse landscapes, multicultural environments, and historic universities. In addition, many nations permit international students to work there to assist them in covering their tuition costs while studying.

There are usually some requirements for working while studying abroad in many countries. For example, you will typically need to submit some papers to the relevant authorities to obtain permission or a visa.

The following top-notch nations will make it simple for international students to make extra cash while studying.

All students with work permits are permitted to work full time during the break for 40 hours per week.

Canada, with 642,480 International student population
Students must be full-time students at "a designated learning institution" if they want to work while they are in school (DLI). They are permitted to work 20 hours a week. They also need a study permit that states explicitly that it will allow them to work off-campus. Additionally, students must obtain a Social Security number.

Germany, with a 265,484 International student population

Korea and Japan are the countries that have become popular choices in recent years. However, there are not many scholarship options when you decide to go to Korea and Japan. But it doesn’t mean that you can not apply to universities in these countries.

I have researched for scholarships in all important countries that have good education systems. For Korea and Japan as well, I came across some scholarships that are actually good -

  • Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship (Japan)
  • Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-financed International Students (Japan)
  • The Great Wall Programme (Korea)
  • Schwarzman Scholarship (Korea)

The Japanese Government Scholarship is awarded to students with a recommendation. Like you have to get word from a government body or your professor etc. The other three are basically merit-based. You have to perform better than others if you want these scholarships. Apart from these ones, you always have scholarships that are offered by the university itself like the ‘University of Tokyo Fellowship.’

And you can also look into -

International Postgraduate Scholarship – Japan and South Korea

The international postgraduate scholarship for Japan & South Korea is a merit-based scholarship that is awarded for outstanding academic performances. To get this scholarship you have to meet academic merit and a 250-word statement. It covers a good amount of your finances and can be very beneficial.

To avail, you basically need to visit the National Scholarship Portal which is administered by the government. There you'll be asked to create an account and put your details. Through draft saving, you will get notified of what scholarship you are eligible for. It's not that hard and can be completed very easily.

Do you also have any university preferences? If you are still not done with your selection process, let me help you. You can share your profile details and we will together see which universities are better for you considering your academic records and scholarship options.
