While you do have a lower grade CGPA of 5.95, let's round it up 6/10. I won’t say it will be an easy task to get into a US-based university with this grade but it's also not impossible. Around 6 CGPA is somewhat manageable for USA universities. But since you have done your previous education from NIT Delhi, that’s gonna help a lot here.

Now as you can already assume getting into the top US universities will not be possible here. But if you think you are left with the average ones, I have better news. Actually even nice universities in the USA admit students based on their overall profile. Thus if you manage to make a strong profile that consists of academics, curriculums, projects, community involvement, certifications etc., you will have better chances.

One thing you can do here is get a really nice GRE test score. Though a high GRE does not guarantee anything, it sure does make your chances better. Not just for admission but also in the scholarship process. One of the major elements your university and the scholarship sees is your GRE score. Since your grades are  on a lower end, you have to compensate for it with something.

Many USA universities have computer science programs. I would suggest you apply for atlas 4-5 universities altogether. It will be better to have backups in case something doesn’t work out. Besides, if you receive admission from multiple ones, you will have the option to choose. How does it sound good? Okay, if you have any more questions let me know.
