A strong LOR for MiM should clearly show how your recommender knows you, what makes you different from others, and why you're ready for a top business school. Most schools like HEC Paris, INSEAD, and LBS ask for professional or academic referees, someone who can talk about your work, behavior, and skills from direct experience.
You’ll usually find a fixed format on the school’s official website. For example, London Business School asks recommenders to describe your main strengths, give a situation where you handled a challenge, and rate you on leadership, teamwork, and maturity. They don’t want long essays, just short, clear, and honest answers with real examples.
A good LOR avoids big praise with no proof. Instead, it talks about what you actually did like leading a team or improving a project. It helps if your recommender can use numbers or results, even if they’re small. That makes your story easier to believe and more impressive to the reader.
Before anything, always check the school’s exact questions and format. Most MiM schools don’t want a general letter. They want specific answers, in a specific order, sent directly by your recommender. Following that process properly will make your application smooth and credible.
