If you are looking for the GPA requirement for an exact program, it may come to you as a little strange. But of-course there is an answer; actually a two way answer. The average GPA differs from GPA to get into the program. It's like the average GPA of class profile and GPA requirement.

If you need a straight answer, the minimum required GPA of 3.5 is what you need. Keep in mind that the required GPA is set for the MS programs. It's pretty uncommon to find too much difference between required GPAs for different MS programs at an institute like Stanford. Feel free to check their official website. It states the same values. They just use it for all MS programs.

Secondly, you need a much higher GPA to get into the Stanford MS CS program. Many applicants for the program sit on perfect 4.0 GPA. It does not necessarily mean you have to as well. But the average GPA at Stanford is higher than required for obvious reasons. And you as much as I know, the acceptance rate is the real challenge here. More students mean more competition. For these situations, high grades and scores are recommended.

But even after all this fuss, believe me, the GPA is not big of an issue. Do you know that for MS programs, most institutes don't even check your school grades. Not even at a glance. Just make sure your undergraduate degree is well recognized. And if it is relevant to the program, more than better.

As a student in Stanford's Master of Science in Computer Science program, I can tell you from personal experience that they don't strictly focus on GPA. Talking with my fellow classmates, I've realized that while many of us had GPAs over 3.6, Stanford looks beyond just academic scores. They truly appreciate a mix of unique experiences and viewpoints.

For example, my GPA wasn't exactly at the top, but I made up for it with substantial project work and leadership positions in tech-oriented clubs. So, yes, keep your grades up, but also dive into activities that showcase your love and talent for computer science. This approach will make your application stand out!

Stanford University doesn’t publish a specific average GPA for its MS in Computer Science program, successful applicants typically have a GPA of 3.7 or above. However, Stanford's admission process is highly aggregate. They look for a combination of strong academic performance, relevant professional or research experiences, and a compelling personal statement.

Therefore, while maintaining a high GPA is important, equally crucial is building a well-rounded profile that aligns with the innovative and diverse ethos of Stanford.
