Top MiM schools want students who have more than just good marks or a strong CV. What really matters is how well you fit their program. For example, HEC Paris clearly states they look for motivation, leadership, and clarity of goals. So, when you apply, your essays should show your story, what drives you, and where you want to go next.

They also care about how you work with others. At ESSEC, teamwork and international exposure are big plus points. If you’ve worked on group projects, led something in college, or managed an internship with people from different cultures, mention that. These things help you stand out.

Academic records still count. Most top schools want a GPA above average, but it doesn’t need to be perfect. What matters more is how you’ve used your education, have you taken part in real-world activities, competitions, or research? That shows potential beyond the classroom.

In the end, they choose students who bring value to the classroom. If your goals are clear, your background is solid, and your mindset shows growth, you're what they're looking for. Always match what you say in your application with what the school mentions on its official site. That’s how you make a strong case.
