The TOEFL iBT ®  Home Edition is a safe, convenient and reliable testing option for students and

institutions worldwide. Because the Home Edition is still a TOEFL iBT test, scores can be accepted and

used in the same way as the test center version. However,  The Australian government does

not currently accept any English-language tests that are taken at home, including the TOEFL iBT Home

Edition.

You can still attempt the TOEFL at a test centre to get Australian visa.

Candidates should note that a TOEFL Cut off score of 110 and above should definitely work for Tier I

universities where there is a massive amount of talent applying to the university. Similarly, a lot of courses

in Tier I and Tier II universities may have a TOEFL Cut off score of 80 - 90 and above. However,

candidates should only treat this as a minimum benchmark and are required to aim higher if they want

their application to count towards the admission process. Candidates looking to re-take the TOEFL test

can register for the same. However, the window period between two TOEFL tests has been set at three

days. Hence, candidates can register for their second TOEFL test after three days of registering for the

first TOEFL test.

Australian universities typically accept the TOEFL iBT Home Edition, a remote version of the standard TOEFL iBT. This adaptation was introduced to accommodate students when accessing test centers is not feasible, such as during global disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic.

The TOEFL iBT Home Edition is designed to replicate the test center environment in terms of content, format, and scoring. It is conducted online with strict remote proctoring by ProctorU®, ensuring its credibility and integrity. This makes it a viable option for fulfilling the English proficiency requirements of many educational institutions.

Most institutions in Australia, including top universities like the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne, recognize the TOEFL iBT Home Edition as valid for admission purposes. However, acceptance can vary by university and program, so it is essential for applicants to verify the specific requirements of their chosen institutions. This can typically be done by checking the universities’ official websites or contacting their admissions offices directly.

TOEFL iBT Home Edition is generally accepted by Australian universities, but always confirm with your chosen institution to ensure it meets all admission criteria.
