One of the major negatives that come with studying abroad is the expense. The tuition fee forÂ
While you can not get a fully-funded scholarship, you can look for scholarships that cover most part of your expenses. Here I have created a list of top 5 scholarships and what all do they cover
Fulbright Nehru Master’s fellowshipÂ
The scholarship covers - a J-1 USA student visa support facility, economic class flight fares (round trip from the student’s hometown to the institution in the USA), 75%tuition fees, accident and sickness coverage as per the U.S. Government guidelines.Â
The scholarship is awarded to just 4000 international students each year.Â
Vanier Graduate Scholarships
Funded by the Canadian government, this scholarship grants CAD 50000 which is roughly 30 Lakhs INR. While the number of scholarships granted is 166, they have a pretty competitive review process, making it tough for you to get into that number of 166 selected students.Â
Commonwealth ScholarshipÂ
Apart from the tuition fees, it covers airfare from the home country to the UK and return. The UK government also gives you a living allowance worth GBP 1084 per month. But the catch here is that this scholarship is awarded to ONLY 700 students each year, and the no. of applications is easily 90 Thousand to a Lakh. Â
As mentioned, the acceptance rate of these scholarships is pretty low and you need to be double sure if your profile matches their requirements. Different countries have different scholarships and not all schools in a country would accept a single scholarship. The point is, the scholarships accepted would be varying across countries, schools, programs etc.Â
So factors like your desired country, school, program, all of it will help you find the right scholarship for you.Â
If you need assistance with applying for scholarships, you should directly get in touch with Study Abroad Experts here. They will help you with all the information as well as assist you in the complete process for FREE.Â
Hope this helps!

Congratulations on your admission for Fall 2024! Pursuing higher education is an exciting journey, and seeking scholarships can help alleviate the financial burden.
Here's how you can approach and apply for scholarships:
- Research Scholarship Opportunities: Begin by researching scholarship opportunities available to international students in your chosen field of study and at your intended university. Many universities offer merit-based scholarships, need-based aid, and scholarships specific to certain programs or departments. Additionally, explore external scholarship databases, government-sponsored scholarships, and private foundations that support international students.
- Check Eligibility Requirements: Carefully review the eligibility criteria for each scholarship to determine if you meet the qualifications. Criteria may include academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, leadership qualities, community service, and financial need. Pay attention to specific requirements such as GPA, standardized test scores, essays, letters of recommendation, or portfolios.
- Prepare Application Materials: Gather all required application materials, including transcripts, standardized test scores (if applicable), letters of recommendation, a resume or curriculum vitae (CV), and any additional documentation requested by the scholarship provider. Write compelling essays or personal statements that highlight your academic achievements, career goals, leadership experiences, and reasons for seeking financial assistance.
- Submit Applications on Time: Be mindful of application deadlines and submit your scholarship applications well before the deadline to ensure consideration. Keep track of submission deadlines for each scholarship opportunity and allocate sufficient time to complete and review your applications thoroughly.
- Follow Up: After submitting your scholarship applications, monitor your email regularly for updates or requests for additional information from scholarship providers. If you receive a scholarship offer, be sure to respond promptly and follow any instructions provided for accepting the award.
- Explore Alternative Funding Sources: In addition to scholarships, consider other forms of financial aid such as grants, fellowships, assistantships, and work-study opportunities. Explore opportunities for part-time employment on campus or in your field of study to supplement your income and gain valuable experience.
Remember that scholarship applications can be competitive, so it's essential to put forth your best effort and apply to multiple opportunities to increase your chances of success.Â
