Requesting a GMAT waiver isn’t just about asking, you have to show that you don’t need the test in the first place.
• First, confirm if the school even allows waivers. Many top MBAs don’t.
• If yes, look for a waiver request section in the application or a separate form on the school website.
• Prepare a short essay or letter that highlights your academic history, especially any advanced degrees or strong grades in math-heavy subjects.
• Add professional experience that shows critical thinking, finance, strategy, consulting, or analytics roles work well.
• Include proof of strong communication if GMAT verbal is being waived, client work, presentations, or publications.
Some schools want this before you apply, others let you submit it with your application. Either way, make it detailed and specific.
