Situated in the town of Portsmouth, the University of Portsmouth is an open university. Having a history which goes lower back to 1908, the Park building was once installed as a neighbourhood university and public library. The college bought its college reputation in 1992 via the Further and Higher Education Act. Before that, it was once referred to as the Portsmouth Polytechnic. Now, the college is counted among the leading a hundred establishments of higher education throughout the globe. The university provides numerous academic packages including Pharmacy, Mechanical Engineering, International family members and politics, Paleontology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, and many more. The university presents some of the most official learn-about packages that have been ranked in top categories via several associations. 

The university is divided between campuses, particularly University Quarter and the Lang stone Campus. The University Quarter is situated in the Portsmouth Guildhall vicinity whilst the Langstone Campus is nestled in the Milton area. University Quarter is the larger campus of the two and is composed of the university constructions set all around the city centre. Students here are provided with educational amenities and residential options. The different campus houses sport ground and present other amenities like a restaurant and accommodation. The college used to offer MSc courses in Traditional Chinese medicinal drugs and BSc (Hons) degrees in Acupuncture. Also, the college's student's union supports all students and provides a range of services. It additionally lets college students characterize the university at special levels. Being one of the country's most reputed and recognised universities, it maintains a prosperous alumni base and has graduated some of the most splendid alumni. People like Grayson Perry, Ben Fogle, Simon Armitage and Tim Peake graduated from the University of Portsmouth.
