A student with a low CGPA can enroll in a Canadian institution. A university does not solely evaluate your CGPA when deciding whether to admit you. The particular university considers your total academic record. If you have a poor CGPA, you must ensure that your academic performance is strong enough to make up for it.

A poor CGPA has specific adverse effects. When requesting admission to a Canadian university, take into account the following restrictions:

Avoid universities that strongly advise pupils to apply or heavily weigh CGPA when considering applicants.

While science and engineering courses demand students with a high or average CGPA, art or humanities approaches frequently consider candidates with a lower CGPA.
Avoid enrolling in courses that demand extra coursework and academic credentials.
Choose classes that demand knowledge, experience, and self-skills, such as business courses.

Universities in Canada Accepting Low CGPAs. Your CGPA is very much low, which also filters the university which accepts the CGPA with low CGPA:

  1. University of the Fraser Valley
  2. Saint Thomas University
  3. Concordia University of Edmonton
  4. Vancouver Island University (Malaspina)
  5. Université Saint Paul

And if we talk about US universities, getting into would be a little challenging. The last CGPA that US universities consider is 2-3. It would be challenging to get into one.

It would be recommended to give a correction paper all over again and try to achieve a minimum average CGPA, which would at least help you get into better US universities.

A few institutions have their own admissions processes without requiring transcripts. Among them are:

  • Admission to Bard College is based on transcripts and essays
  • Admission to Bennington College via your own carefully selected work
  • Admission to Goucher College requires a two-minute video about the applicant

You can also check the universities mentioned below, which entertain candidates with very low CGPA.

  1. California State University
  2. Metropolitan College of New York
  3. Western Washington University
  4. Connecticut State University

You can also go for diploma courses, work hard, and then apply to US universities. Hopefully, this answer will help you in some way possible. If you have any more queries, please feel free to drop questions. I would be more than happy to help you in some way possible.
