    • Letter of Recommendation for Bath MSc in Business Analytics

A Letter of Recommendation (LOR) is a document written by someone who can provide insight into your academic or professional qualifications, character, and potential for success in a specific program. For admission into the University of Bath, LORs are important as they offer a third-party perspective on your abilities, helping the admissions committee assess your suitability for the chosen program.

Here are the tips for obtaining the best Letter of Recommendation:

    • Choose the Right Recommender: Select individuals who know you well and can speak to your academic abilities, work ethic, and character. Ideally, choose professors, employers, or supervisors who have had direct experience with your skills.

    • Provide Guidance: When requesting a recommendation, provide clear guidelines about the program you are applying to, your career goals, and any specific points you'd like them to address in the letter.

    • Give Ample Time: Request recommendations well in advance, providing recommenders with enough time to thoughtfully craft the letter. A rushed recommendation may not reflect your true strengths.

    • Share Relevant Information: Share your academic and professional achievements, goals, and specific experiences you'd like the recommender to highlight. This information can help them tailor the letter to your application.

    • Provide a Resume: Share your updated resume with the recommender, giving them additional context about your experiences, skills, and qualifications.

    • Follow Up Politely: If your recommender agrees to write the letter, follow up politely as the deadline approaches to ensure they have the necessary details and are on track.

    • Express Gratitude: Thank your recommenders for their time and effort. Let them know that you appreciate their support in helping you achieve your academic and career goals.

    • Diversity in Recommenders: If possible, include recommendations from different sources, such as a professor, employer, or mentor. This can provide a more comprehensive view of your capabilities.

    • Choose Quality over Quantity: It's better to have a few well-written, substantive letters than a larger number of generic ones. Quality recommendations can make a stronger impact on the admissions committee.

    • Provide Clear Submission Instructions: Clearly communicate the submission process to your recommenders, including any online portals or specific email addresses.

Is an MSBA suitable for Chemical Engineering?

It really depends on what your interests are and what kind of MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) course you chose. I mean we all can see that business analytics is very different from a subject like chemical engineering. But even so there are things that can help you here. Otherwise why would universities abroad allow students from different backgrounds to apply for MSBA programs?

First of all, having a different bachelor's degree doesn't really matter (I assume you have a degree in chemical engineering in your bachelors). Because the real specialization you get is from a master degree. In your undergraduate studies, you are just taught the basics of any subject area. It is not mandatory to follow the same field for the rest of your life.

On the contrary , having different skills at your disposal can grant you access to many new opportunities. Because in current times, upskilling is the most relevant thing. If you are limited to one area of expertise only, it will limit you. Having different skill sets allows one to work in different sectors, It builds a learning attitude. Besides all this general talk, there is one technical element that you can explore.

Chemical engineering is a STEM degree. Now, an MBA degree can also be STEM designated. It is popular for universities abroad to offer STEM courses in business analytics. Therefore I would suggest you to go for such courses in MSBA. WIth our background and understanding, your application will be given more thoughts compared to some general applications.

Also, with an MSBA, you can get access to areadlike analytics in chemical engineering, o&g, pharma/biopharma, materials etc. If you look deeply there are many good things you can get in this situation. In the end, it's all up to you what you decide. If you want an MSBA, go for it.

I want a career counselling session as I'm confused between 2 courses MIM and MSBA. Also the country which is best for the same.?

MiM stands for Masters in Management and MSBA is Masters in Business Analytics. Bothe degrees cater to different objectives and are suitable for people with different profiles and future objectives. It is understandable that you are confused between the two since both of them are top-notch courses.

I suggest you directly get in touch with Study Abroad Experts here. They will analyse your profile and not just help you with information but also assist you in the entire application process for FREE.

      Hope this helps!

I have completed my UG PG in the commerce field and now I'm looking for an MSBA in the USA. I want to know if it is accepted in any university. I scored 110 in Duolingo?

MS in Business Analytics is a really nice choice. Especially after a commerce undergraduate, it complements the field better than non relevant backgrounds. Plus your post graduation (PG) is also from the commerce field so this makes it even better. Having two degrees in a relevant field is already a plus point.

If you are concerned that whether you are eligible for a second master after doing a UG and PG, relax. Anyone can do 2 masters degrees if they want. There isn't a rule preventing it. However, you can not do two bachelors in any case. Universities do not allow this for undergrad. But as for you, you are all set. You can start looking for MSBA programs at your desired locations.

The USA has many top level universities that offer MSBA programs. You can start looking right now. Delay only makes it worse. Your Duolingo score is more than enough to make you eligible. Basically a good Duolingo score is around 110 and above. Since you already got that, I don’t think you need to worry about this topic. But there's one thing that you need to consider.

During the pandemic, many universities started accepting Duolingo test scores.  But not every university recognizes Duolingo as a language test. Thus, it's very possible that the university you look for doesn’t accept Duolingo. But I assume if you have this , you must already know about this. Universities like Stanford, Yale and NYU accept Duolingo test score so you don't have much to worry about.

If you have enough time, I would recommend attempting TOEFL. I know it is something that you may not seem necessary, but just in case. What happens if you like a university that does not recognize Duolingo? Besides, taking TOEFL will only help, it’ll be a great assessment of your skills. Let me know if I can offer any help regarding this. I can give some tips on how to prepare for it.
