A roughly related course that strongly stresses the theoretical aspect of management applications and fosters critical thinking is the Masters in Management (MIM) programme. The average length of a MIM course is 10 to 13 months. MBA and MIM programmes are often 40–60% similar. MIM programmes are believed to have their roots predominantly in Europe, focusing on building a theoretical foundation before entering the workforce.

The MiM, on the other hand, is based on specific regions. The MiM began in European universities and has expanded rapidly recently, with various universities now offering it in English. However, this degree is much more well-known in countries where it has long been practised, such as France, Germany, and Italy, to name a few. As a result, most MiM schools are situated in European Union countries. However, nations where it has been practised for a long time, like France, Germany, and Italy, to mention a few, are considerably more familiar with this degree. As a result, most MiM schools are located in nations that are members of the European Union.

Can I presue Mim from abroad without appearing GMAT or any other exam?

In my opinion, the GMAT somehow seems necessary for a business program abroad. Especially for a country like the USA, where a Masters proves much more than a degree. However, there are some major institutes that do not require you to submit a GMAT score. Of course, they are less in number. These institutes are generally preferred by working graduates who do not want to put extra effort into going through a standardized test. And by far, the quality of education in any of the mentioned business schools is exceptional. In fact, even Kellogg offers an Executive MBA with no requirement of a GMAT score.

Here are the best schools across countries that don't require a GMAT score:

    USA

    University of Seattle

    Adelphi University

    California Miramar University

    Canada

    University of Regina

    Brock University

    University of Saskatchewan

    UK

    University of Leeds

    King's College London

    University of Manchester

Now, these institutes might not require a GMAT score but there are other requirements that you must fulfil like a minimum bachelors' GPA, IELTS/TOEFL Score etc.

You should check your overall profile and get an idea if you match all the other requirements since you wish to skip the GMAT. To get a more accurate list based on your profile, you should check out the FREE School Explore Tool. It will generate a list of schools based on your profile and preferences and will make the process of school selection a lot more easier.

Was this helpful? Let me know if you want me to give you any more insights.

I have shortlisted my Universities, such as HEC Paris, LBS and a few others, for the MiM program. Do I need work experience to apply for the MiM program?

One of the blessings of a Master in Management (MiM) program is that, often, candidates need little or no work journey to reap admission. Indeed, many tend to go straight from their undergraduate route to business school.

What this capacity is that the different factors of the MiM software process - such as an excessive GPA and standardized check rankings - are vitally important. But, even though it may not be required, a work ride can add weight to an application because it demonstrates proactivity and well-roundedness, according to Crystal Grant, director of admissions at Imperial College Business School in London, which presents an MSc Management program.

“Obviously having some high-quality business enterprise internships on your CV will seem good, but what in reality differentiates the very fine candidates is the capability to mirror on what they’ve learnt from these experiences and how this will make a contribution to their future success,” she says.

She adds that international journey through analyzing abroad, exchanges or work placements is sought after. “Whether it’s through internships, volunteering, starting their very own undertaking or via pursuing sports, interests and hobbies to a high level, there are a lot of methods that candidates can showcase their skills.”

Although HEC Paris’ Master in Management is a pre-experience program, the faculty considers admitting candidates with restrained work experience, says Julien Manteau, director of strategy and improvement for masters programs.

In some countries, students take a gap of 12 months between their bachelor’s and master’s degrees every day, accruing some professional journey before enrolling in a MiM. “In Germany or Italy, it is frequent to have internships one year earlier than pursuing a masters,” says Manteau. “In India, it is additionally regular to work for a 12 months after a bachelor’s degree earlier than becoming a member of an enterprise school for an MiM or MBA. We are given college students from all over the world.”

A candidate’s extracurricular activities, persona and motivation to be successful can set them aside from the pack, in accordance with Manteau. “It is regular to be undecided at this factor of exactly what you want to do in life, but it is important to outline your next steps, and show us how the MiM will assist you to decide,” he says.

Some enterprise schools additionally require the GMAT, such as the Master in Management at the Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands. “To improve your chances of getting invited for an interview, make certain you have a high GMAT and GPA rating and an incredible résumé displaying your ambition in the field,” says Arnoud Monster, director of recruitment and admissions for Msc programs.

Hence, no work experience is required to apply for the MiM program.
