In France, the two best MBA specializations are consulting and luxury brand management, depending on where you want to work after graduation.
Consulting is strongest at INSEAD and HEC Paris. INSEAD’s 10-month program places nearly 50% of its class into firms like McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Strategy&, and Roland Berger. Common roles include strategy consultant, associate, and project leader, with average salaries between €100,000 and €120,000 plus bonuses. HEC Paris (16 months) also has a strong consulting track with solid case prep and alumni connections across Europe.
Luxury brand management is led by ESSEC, which offers a 12-month Global MBA focused on the sector. Students work closely with brands like LVMH, L’Oréal, and Kering through live projects and events. HEC Paris also offers electives in luxury with good company access. Graduates typically take on roles like brand manager, product manager, or marketing lead, earning between €70,000 and €90,000.
Both tracks are well-established. If you're aiming for global strategy roles, consulting is the better pick. If you're targeting brand leadership in fashion or beauty, luxury management is the way to go.
