The best GMAT books or websites to use are those from where you can get the right and best preparation data. Start with the  official ones i.e. The GMAT Official Guide is a must—it’s published by the people who actually make the test, so the questions are the most accurate you’ll find. They also offer online practice exams that are super helpful to track your progress.

Apart from that, a lot of students also like using Manhattan Prep ,mentr-me and Veritas Prep books because they break things down in a simple way. If you prefer learning through videos or structured plans, websites like GMAT Club or the official mba.com prep tools are great options too. Just make sure to focus more on quality practice than collecting too many resources—it’s better to really understand one book than skim through six.

The best resource to begin is with the GMAT Official Guide. It’s published by the makers of the GMAT exam, so the practice questions are the closest to the real test. It also includes answer explanations, which really help you understand where you're going wrong.

Apart from the official guide, many students find Manhattan Prep books helpful, especially for Quant and Verbal sections. They explain concepts in a clear way and give enough practice. If you’re just starting out, their strategy guides are easy to follow.

As for websites, GMAT Club and Mentr-Me is very useful. It’s a free forum where students ask and answer GMAT questions, and you can find tons of helpful discussions and prep tips. But don’t use too many sources—stick to 1–2 books and 1 website, and practice regularly. That’s what really makes the difference.

Mentr Me is a great place to start if you're prepping for the GMAT Focus Edition. They offer free GMAT Focus Edition lessons, free full-length mock tests, and sectional tests like Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal separately, which is super helpful if you want to build up section by section. Their free resources cover both the updated exam format and timing strategies pretty well.

For books, the Official Guide for GMAT Focus Edition 2024-2025 is a must because it’s created by GMAC and matches real test difficulty. Another good book is the Manhattan Prep GMAT Focus Edition Complete Set — very strong for both Quant and Verbal basics, especially if you're starting from scratch. For extra Quant practice, Target Test Prep is a good website to explore too.

Mentr Me should definitely be on your list. They offer free live GMAT Focus Edition classes, official question bank access, and free strategy webinars where they break down timing, new question types, and section management — all tailored to the Focus Edition. Plus, they regularly update their free mock tests to match the real Focus Edition pattern.

Apart from that, it’s smart to rely on the GMAT Official Advanced Questions for Focus Edition if you're aiming for top scores — it has tougher practice sets. Also, the E-GMAT platform is great for Verbal prep, especially for Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning under the new format. For mock tests, always prioritize MBA.com’s official practice exams over random sites, since they’re based on real retired GMAT Focus Edition questions.
