Which exams do I need to take to study abroad?

See it really depends. There are a variety of exams ranging from language proficiency tests to academic ability tests, that are required by schools abroad to test your overall excellence. IELTS and TOEFL are the English language tests which will help the admission committee determine your ability to read, write and understand English, and exams like GMAT and GRE test if you are academically fit for the course that you are applying for. 

Now the exam that you really need to give depends on the course that you are opting for. Also, there are various schools which have waived off the GMAT/GRE requirement. 

Universities like the Saint Louis University, the University of California, and the University of Arizona are the top names where you don’t need to worry about a GMAT/GRE score. 

Thus, the exam requirements vary across courses, schools and countries.
