If the goal is to intern with LVMH, Chanel, or any of the top French luxury brands, then location and school network matter more than ranking.

• ESSEC has the strongest ties to LVMH — they even co-organize brand projects and workshops with them. A lot of alumni work at Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and Guerlain.
 • HEC Paris also has some access, but it’s more generalist. It helps if someone carves a luxury path through electives and networking.
 • SDA Bocconi is great too — it leans more into Italian brands like Armani or Valentino, but a few students get into LVMH subsidiaries as well.
 • POLIMI and EMLYON are decent, but less consistent for Chanel or top-tier placements.

To actually land an internship with LVMH or Chanel, basic French helps a lot. These brands prefer candidates who can work in French, even if the role is international-facing. Also, most internships are competitive — relationships built during on-campus events or through alumni make the biggest difference.

For internships specifically with LVMH, Chanel, or other top-tier fashion houses, ESSEC is probably your best bet in Europe. Their MBA in Luxury Brand Management has long-standing partnerships with LVMH and Kering. Students regularly work on capstone projects with maisons under the LVMH umbrella  and sometimes these turn into internships or short-term contracts.

Being based near Paris also helps, ESSEC students often attend luxury panels, trade fairs, and brand events where they meet actual recruiters. A few students each year do land internships at brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton, or Guerlain. These are usually paid and may be optional or arranged alongside the final consulting project, depending on the track.

French fluency is often expected, especially for marketing, retail, or HQ strategy roles. SDA Bocconi is another solid choice, especially for internships with Italian brands, but if the aim is LVMH or Chanel, ESSEC consistently offers the strongest access.
