While applying for visa or scholarship, many people get asked "are you planning to stay here or return to your home country?Should I say I plan to work there? Will it affect my visa chances?

I am planning for doing masters in US for fall 2023. I am an undergraduate student, 2022 passed out.

Yes, This can affect your visa chances to some extent.
When you are asked this question whether you want to stay abroad after your studies or not, it is advised to tell them that you are planning to return back to your country post completion of your studies.
