When do applications close for Harvard MBA 2027?

Harvard Business School has only two regular application rounds for the MBA class entering in Fall 2027.
The deadlines are:
Round 1: September 9, 2026Round 2: January 5, 2027Both deadlines are at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
One important thing to remember is that HBS does not operate like schools that have a regular Round 3. So if you miss the January 5 deadline, you generally won&rsquo;t have another regular opportunity for that intake.
As for which round to choose, I wouldn&rsquo;t rush an application simply because Round 1 sounds more attractive.
Round 1 makes sense if your:

Test score is finalized
Essays are polished
Recommendations are strong
Career goals are clear
Overall application is genuinely ready
Otherwise, Round 2 gives you additional time to strengthen the application.

The January deadline is therefore the critical final regular deadline for Fall 2027 applicants.
