What’s the minimum GRE score required for top universities in the USA?

The minimum score you would want to target depends on the program but is generally around 320+, though for top-ranked institutions such as MIT, Stanford, or Harvard, scores falling within the 325-330 range are often sought after, particularly when targeting technical or quantitative fields.

Both scores-the verbal and the quantitative-have also got different expectations. Engineering programs, for instance, are more inclined toward a quant score that would be of high magnitude: 165+ while humanities is more aligned to verbal as it must have around 160+.

Remember, though that GRE preparation is not the be-all and end-all. The top schools also look at a combination of factors, including GPA, work experience, recommendations, and personal statement. So while it's good to aim for a very good score, not to stress if you were some points off as long as the rest of your profile stands well. It's all about balance!
