The Kellogg MBA interview is behavioral and mostly conducted by alumni. It’s resume-based, so your interviewer likely won’t have access to your full application — just your resume. This means you need to own your story from start to finish, with clear examples and confident delivery.
You'll be asked common questions like “Walk me through your resume” and “Why MBA and why Kellogg?”, followed by more behavioral questions such as:
- “Tell me about a time you worked in a low-ego team environment.”
- “Describe a situation where you handled conflict within a group.”
- “What’s one piece of feedback you received that changed how you lead?”
- “Give an example of a time you helped someone succeed.”
Kellogg looks for collaborative, thoughtful leaders. Prepare stories that show emotional intelligence, learning from failure, and building others up. Use the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result) and expect follow-ups like “Would you handle it the same way again?”
