Data engineers are tasked with transforming big data into a somewhat helpful form of analysis. Because of tech and information systems, data engineers and scientists are already in huge demand. Generally stating, an MS in data engineering/science or data analytics are the most popular choices. These programs are concerned with data management, analysis, and transformation. Also, some major specialization in relevant areas actually gives a big paycheck. IT and data science is still growing in India; even so, data scientists are among the best-paid professions. And if you check common records in developed countries, specialized data engineers and scientists earn over $1,00,000.
But in case you want to avoid the mainstream flow, there are alternatives. Let's say; a master's in software & data engineering, artificial intelligence or deep learning. There are many specializations. These courses are more directional, and it will cost you a load of brain work, though. But usually, if you master a stream in these areas, professionally, you will never be out of employment. Just the common need for job profiles related to tech aspects of data will surely be a safer approach.
Business intelligence and innovation management are other options. However, along with MS, your specialization will also change. But it will be different from pursuing all academic programs. Plus, these MS can assist you in pursuing an MBA later or a management program to accelerate your career development.
