Not all Master’s in Finance grads walk into six-figure jobs — but the right country and role can change everything.
- London offers some of the highest-paying jobs in investment banking, with total comp reaching £80,000+ in the first year including bonuses. But competition is steep, and most hires come from target schools.
- In Amsterdam, grads working in fintech or financial strategy roles typically earn €45,000–€55,000. Cost of living is manageable, but salary growth can be slow without Dutch fluency.
- Southern Europe (Spain, Italy) tends to offer lower pay — around €35,000–€45,000 — even from top schools like Bocconi or IE, unless relocating post-graduation.
- Private equity and hedge fund roles are rare for fresh grads but can pay €70,000+ across UK and Switzerland.
A lot depends on the exact role. Even in the same city, someone in risk at a bank might earn 30% less than someone in M&A.
