Hey, The GMAT test score is valid for five years from the date of the test. It means that if you have taken the examination on 15 September 2022, then your GMAT score will be valid until 15 September 2027.  So, give the exam tension-free as per your convenience and wish!

However, note that the candidates are advised to pay close attention to the admission deadlines to fill out the applications within the GMAT score validity period. Candidates can take the GMAT test once every 16 calendar days and a maximum of five times a year. The total number of attempts an individual can take in their lifetime is limited to eight. The duration of the GMAT test is 3 hours and 7 minutes long. The test-takers can score anywhere between 200 and 800 in the GMAT exam. According to GMAC, two-thirds of test-takers score from 400 to 600.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions!

For admission in September 2025, it's important to consider both the GMAT exam timing and the application deadlines of the programs you are targeting. Most business schools have their final application rounds closing between January and April of the year you wish to start. To align with these deadlines, taking the GMAT by the end of 2024 or early 2025 would be advisable. This allows you to have your scores ready for the earliest application rounds, typically starting in September or October, and also provides a buffer to retake the exam if you feel you can improve your scores. Early preparation and scheduling of the GMAT not only ease the stress of the application process but also enhance your chances of securing admission by allowing you to apply in earlier rounds, where acceptance rates are often higher.

The students who are targeting admission in September 2025, the optimal time to take the GMAT would be approximately one year prior, around September to December 2024. This timeline allows for a strategic approach to the application process. By taking the GMAT during this period, you ensure that your scores are valid throughout the entire application cycle, as GMAT scores are typically valid for five years. It also provides a buffer to retake the exam if necessary, without the added stress of upcoming application deadlines. Preparing for and completing the GMAT by the end of 2024 will enable you to dedicate the early months of 2025 to assembling strong applications. You should consider the deadlines of your chosen programs; many top schools have their first round deadlines in September or October. Therefore, having your GMAT score ready by then will allow you to apply in the first round, which often features a smaller pool of applicants and higher chances of admission and scholarships.
