If it was exam prep (like CAT or UPSC), explain how it built discipline, time management, and analytical skills, and give a concrete example, like consistently hitting mock test targets or managing a structured study schedule.
If you had no prior work experience, focus on skill-building or exposure you gained in that time ,  maybe you completed an Excel and PowerPoint course, joined an online case competition, or worked on a college alumni project. Even something like helping a small local store set up their Instagram page can be presented as initiative. The key is framing it as a period that prepared you better for the MBA, not just &ldquo;time off.&rdquo;
