For the Class of 2026, the average GMAT score was 732. But it’s worth noting that this was based on the older version of the exam, which was discontinued in early 2024. Now, all applicants take the GMAT Focus Edition, which uses a different format and a new score range (205–805).
Wharton hasn’t shared an average score under the Focus Edition yet, but based on trends, competitive applicants are typically in the 95th to 99th percentile. Wharton has also confirmed that they focus more on percentile rankings rather than the raw score because of the format change. And as always, they look at more than just test scores — strong work experience, clear career goals, and well-written essays can still make a big difference.
