Ideally, for Stanford's MS in Computer Science, which is a very competitive program, one should aim for a GPA of 3.7 or above on a 4.0 scale. Stanford MS&E looks for applicants who have good academic records; therefore, a higher GPA definitely strengthens your application, but they do not have a strict minimum GPA requirement. They review the applications as a whole and consider work experiences, research projects, submission of GRE scores, a couple of recommendation letters, and a personal statement of purpose.

If you have good marks, less than a little below 3.7 GPA, your chances might improve significantly. This can increase your possibilities if you show strong achievement in other fields like research interest and related work experience or published articles. Do not forget that Stanford values students who demonstrate different problem-solving skills with full commitment towards their fields.

Try for a GPA of 3.7 or higher in hopes of getting into Stanford for an MS in Computer Science. This program is quite competitive, and while the committee has no strict cutoff point, a strong academic record definitely helps a lot. That being said, Stanford doesn't make admissions strictly on GPA. They need students who are well-rounded candidates and can bring to the table more than grades alone. So, if your GPA is a bit lower, then concentrate on other parts of your application—like relevant projects, research experience, and strong recommendation letters.

Stanford also values applicants with clear goals and passion for computer science. It really enhances your application when you can show your unique contributions to the field or explain how the MS will help you achieve specific goals.
