There is basically a  different kind of placements  that goes on in Harvard, or say any foreign university. Unlike here in India where you get placement day when companies and MNCs come and you  get an interview based  on your grades, universities abroad follow a different approach.

At Harvard University, you will have job fairs that are a substitute for placement events if you must. In these job fairs wyou will be approaching different peoples, be it may your classmates, firms, executives, HRs and anyone for that matter. The basic thing here is networking. You have to get out and find job opportunities for yourself.

There won’t be any interviews given to you, instead you have to get one for yourself. Don’t worry it doesn’t mean that university does nothing for you in this area. Harvard University will arrange job fairs, gatherings, project events so that you would have multiple shots at this. All you need to do is go out and start talking. Based on your knowledge and skill sets, you will be given opportunities by many sources.

Most of the people present in these job fairs are from Harvard network. Either the university is connected to them in some manner or they are just a partner body. Therefore, being already familiar with Harvard’s caliber, you won’t have to do much to get an interview. However the real competition will be your peers. Because they might also be aiming for the same position as you.

Make sure you have a strong profile that will nudge the admission committee towards you. It’s always better to have some extensive points present on your resume. If you like, I can help you with that. Leave a comment and we’ll see what are the things you need to focus on the most here.
