What are the most common IIM A interview questions asked by the panel?

The thing with IIM A interviews is they&rsquo;re rarely predictable. You might expect a smooth chat, but five minutes in, you could be answering something like, &ldquo;What&rsquo;s the difference between fiscal and monetary policy?&rdquo; or &ldquo;How would you price a cup of tea in Ahmedabad?&rdquo;
Some other common ones: &bull; &ldquo;Explain one project you&rsquo;ve worked on and what you learned.&rdquo; &bull; &ldquo;Who is the current RBI Governor and what&rsquo;s one recent policy change?&rdquo; &bull; &ldquo;If your manager made a decision you strongly disagreed with, what would you do?&rdquo; &bull; &ldquo;Tell us one book you&rsquo;ve read recently and what you took from it.&rdquo; &bull; &ldquo;If you were the CEO of Zomato, how would you expand into a new market?&rdquo; &bull; &ldquo;What&rsquo;s your view on India&rsquo;s recent Union Budget announcement?&rdquo;
They sometimes switch to a new question halfway through your answer. It&rsquo;s deliberate &mdash; they&rsquo;re seeing if you can adapt without freezing.

IIM A panels have a habit of catching people off guard, even with questions that sound basic at first. They almost always start with &ldquo;Tell us about yourself&rdquo; or &ldquo;Walk us through your journey,&rdquo; but it&rsquo;s not small talk ,  they&rsquo;ll keep asking follow-up questions based on what&rsquo;s said. If the degree was in economics, they might suddenly ask, &ldquo;What&rsquo;s India&rsquo;s current GDP growth rate?&rdquo; If it&rsquo;s engineering, they might bring up a core concept from your undergrad syllabus and ask you to explain it.
They also like &ldquo;Why MBA?&rdquo; and &ldquo;Why IIM A?&rdquo;, and they can tell when it&rsquo;s just a rehearsed speech. Current affairs pop up a lot, usually connected to your field. And sometimes there&rsquo;s a totally random one, like &ldquo;If you had to teach your subject to a 10-year-old, how would you do it?&rdquo; That&rsquo;s their way of checking how you think on your feet.
