When writing your ESCP Europe MBA essays, the key tip is to focus on telling your unique story in a clear, honest, and thoughtful way. The admissions team wants to know more than just your achievements—they want to understand who you are, what drives you, and why ESCP is the right fit for you. Here are some simple tips to help you write strong, standout essays:
1. Understand What ESCP Europe Is Looking ForBefore you start writing, spend some time researching the ESCP MBA program. Learn about its international focus, multi-campus opportunities, and how it develops leaders. This will help you connect your personal goals with what the school offers. Show the admissions team that you’re not just applying to any MBA—you’re applying to ESCP for specific reasons.
2. Be Honest and PersonalAdmissions officers read hundreds of essays. The ones that stand out are honest, personal, and heartfelt. Don’t just talk about your job titles or list your achievements. Instead, share real stories from your life—challenges you’ve faced, lessons you’ve learned, and moments that shaped your goals.
For example, instead of saying, “I am a strong leader,” describe a situation where you led a team, made a tough decision, or helped solve a problem. Let your actions show your qualities.
3. Answer the Question DirectlyIt sounds simple, but it’s very important—always answer the question. Read the essay prompt carefully. Make sure each paragraph connects back to what they’re asking. If the question is about leadership, don’t talk about teamwork. Stay focused and clear.
4. Show Your Career GoalsESCP wants to know how their MBA will help you achieve your career goals. Be specific about what you want to do after graduation. Whether you’re aiming to switch industries, start your own business, or grow in your current field, explain how the MBA fits into your plan. Mention courses, professors, or activities at ESCP that excite you.
5. Highlight Your International Experience (If You Have It)Since ESCP is a global program with campuses across Europe, any international experience you have can be a big plus. This could be studying abroad, working with international teams, or living in different countries. Show how these experiences have shaped your global mindset.
6. Keep It Simple and Well-StructuredYou don’t need fancy words or complicated sentences. Use simple language and clear structure:

Introduction: Briefly introduce the main point of your essay.
Body: Share specific examples and stories that support your point.
Conclusion: Wrap up with a strong closing that connects your story back to ESCP.

7. Proofread and Get FeedbackAfter writing your essay, take a break before reviewing it. Read it out loud to catch any mistakes. It’s also helpful to ask a friend, mentor, or MBA alum to read your essay and give feedback. They might spot areas where you can improve.
Your ESCP Europe MBA essay isn’t just about impressing the admissions team—it’s about sharing your journey, your dreams, and why ESCP is the next step in your story. Be authentic, stay focused, and let your passion shine through.
