Undergrad Student at Miranda House
I think you know this already but I still want to mention this one time. MTech is not really a common name in each country. Basically, Indian universities offer MTech, which is the idle choice for a technical course. But foreign universities offer MS technology courses instead. Same game, different name.
There are colleges that are more popular for these courses. And there are some that are especially known for only these types of courses. Because many abroad colleges specialized in engineering and technology, they gradually seem a more suitable destination for a master's degree like MTech. What I'm trying to convey by all this is, consider what exactly you are looking for before making a decision. Someone may prefer a bigger degree name or probably a more academic one, who knows?
For USA-based colleges, I would recommend either the best known Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley).
I really don’t believe that MIT needs any introduction here. Not just in the USA but it has been the #1 spot for engineering and technology in the world. And if this doesn't intrigue you enough, it is the best productive university. In terms of research, development, graduation, salaries, rankings etc. UC Berkeley on the other hand specializes in tech oriented programs. Scientific research and scholarship options are very good in this university.
I’m not sure if you know but Singapore has some of the best engineering & tech universities. My recommendations are National University of Singapore (NUS) or Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
No denying that these options are not as big names as MIT. But these two universities from Singapore are ranked under #10 engineering & technology universities by every major organization. I would even put both of them in the top #5, to be honest. NUS is best for education and research while NTU is more towards personalized and well-rounded education. Both of them are excellent options and located in Singapore; one of the most developed countries globally.
One another excellent option is ETH Zurich from Switzerland. Better known by ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal institute of Technology. Not just the university but the tech course they offer are recognized globally. Many experts consider ETH Zurich technology courses as most relevant. I would suggest this option in case you want a true technology education that you can apply in a variety of contexts.
Now you can make your decision via country reference as well. And if you want some names from other countries like the UK, Canada etc., then just ask. We are here to answer all your queries.
