MS in Computer Science Student at University of Oxford
To get into a top Master’s in Marketing program in the U.S. or UK, here’s what most schools expect:
- Academics: UK schools like Imperial and Warwick require a strong bachelor’s (first or upper second class). U.S. schools like USC Marshall or Northwestern Medill expect a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Test Scores: IELTS (6.5–7.5) or TOEFL (90–105) is mandatory if your undergrad wasn’t in English. GMAT/GRE is usually optional but can strengthen the application.
- Documents: SOP, 1–2 recommendation letters, and a CV are standard. Some U.S. schools like Medill may also ask for a short writing sample or portfolio, especially if applying for a more creative track.
- Experience: Work experience is not compulsory, but internships, campus projects, or freelance marketing work help you stand out.
Programs welcome non-commerce backgrounds too, as long as your SOP shows clear motivation and you’ve done something to prove your interest in marketing.
