What are my chances for Nova SBE MiM?

I did my BCom and finished with around 7.8 CGPA. I’ve done one finance internship and about 10 months of part-time work in my family business. I haven’t taken the GMAT yet, and I’m not sure if my profile is strong enough for Nova. Most people I see applying are engineers, so I’m confused if a commerce background + limited experience is okay for this program.

Your chances for Nova SBE MiM with a 7.8 CGPA, a finance internship, and part-time family business work are quite solid, even without a GMAT. Nova openly targets applicants with 0&ndash;2 years of experience, and a commerce background fits fine because the MiM is meant for students coming from non-technical degrees too. What matters more is whether you&rsquo;ve had some real exposure to business tasks &mdash; which your internship and family business work already cover.A GMAT only becomes necessary if your grades were lower or if you wanted to push for CEMS or a double degree. With your current profile, applying without a test score is completely normal and won&rsquo;t hurt your chances.

Your profile is actually much more in line with Nova applicants than you think.

A 7.8 CGPA is comfortably within the range they accept.
One finance internship is already more than many applicants show &mdash; plenty apply with only university projects.
10 months in a family business counts as experience because it shows you&rsquo;ve handled real work, not just academics.
Nova doesn&rsquo;t expect engineers; they admit tons of commerce, economics, and management grads.
The GMAT isn&rsquo;t required unless you feel your application needs a boost.
