SB YLP Interview in a few days — need urgent help!?

Hey everyone, I’ve been shortlisted for the ISB YLP interview and it’s coming up in 4–5 days. I just finished my undergrad in engineering and have a couple of months of internship experience so far.
I’m not sure what to expect in the interview. Do they go deep into post-MBA goals even at this early stage? What kind of questions were you asked? Was it casual or more grilling?
If anyone has gone through the ISB YLP interview recently, please share how it went — especially if you were a fresher. Any tips, sample questions, or common mistakes to avoid would be super helpful right now.

The interview isn&rsquo;t scary ,  but they will catch you if your answers feel too rehearsed or vague.
&bull; They usually begin by asking about your undergrad journey,  why you chose your stream, what you enjoyed, and any highlights like projects or college initiatives &bull; If you mention any leadership, expect questions like what challenges came up and how you handled them &bull; Post-MBA goals do come up, but they&rsquo;re testing direction, not job titles &mdash; it&rsquo;s okay if it&rsquo;s broad, as long as it&rsquo;s thought through &bull; One common slip is saying something just to sound impressive (like VC or entrepreneurship) without being able to back it up &bull; Be prepared for follow-ups if you mention ISB-specific things,  like the P2P learning or leadership modules &bull; Keep your tone confident but not defensive, even if they dig into your GPA or lack of full-time experience
What helps is knowing your own story well and linking it to what ISB offers. That&rsquo;s how you stand out,  not with perfect answers, but with real ones.

ISB YLP interviews for freshers are not about work experience , they focus on clarity, potential, and self-awareness.
Expect questions like &ldquo;Why an MBA so early?&rdquo; or &ldquo;What do you want to do post-MBA?&rdquo; They don&rsquo;t expect fully locked career plans, but you do need a direction and logical reasoning. Saying &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll explore later&rdquo; comes off as unprepared.
They&rsquo;ll likely ask about undergrad experiences , leadership roles, projects, or any decisions you&rsquo;ve made that shaped your thinking. If you have internships, be ready to explain what you learned and how it connects to your future plans.
The tone is usually conversational, not aggressive. But they do test depth. For example, if you say you&rsquo;re interested in consulting, they&rsquo;ll ask which firms, why that industry, and what you&rsquo;re doing now to explore it.
Final tip that I would  suggest is practice answering &ldquo;Tell me about yourself&rdquo; in a way that connects your background to ISB and the YLP structure.
