The submission of English language proficiency test results is one of the most important aspects of the Canadian immigration process. It is critical for a person to be fluent in English and/or French in order to migrate to Canada. The candidate must take relevant exams, such as the PTE exam for Canada or the IELTS exam, and submit the exam results. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam is acceptable for Canada immigration, but the PTE exam is not. These test results are accepted not only by Canadian universities, but also by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). You must understand The Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in order to determine the scores that you must achieve in order to be considered for immigration to Canada. CLB 7 and above are required for immigration to Canada. In the case of point-based programmes, such as the express entry programme, the candidate's goal must be to perform well on the English language test. The minimum PTE score varies according to the course you wish to pursue at Canadian universities. The overall minimum must be 45, with no less than 36. Few Canadian colleges, including Algonquin College, Capilano University, Conestoga College, Georgian College, and many others, accept PTE scores instead of IELTS.
