Oxford MFE vs IIM A/B MBA – Which is better for a long-term career in finance?
I’m in a bit of a dilemma between pursuing the Oxford MFE and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad or Bangalore. I have around 2 years of work experience in financial consulting, and I’m looking to build a career in investment roles — either in asset management or corporate finance.
Oxford has the global exposure and brand, but IIMs are incredibly strong when it comes to domestic placements and long-term growth in India. I also have to consider the total cost — Oxford is expensive for a one-year program.
If I aim to work abroad for a few years and then eventually settle in India, which of these makes more sense in terms of ROI, network, and long-term positioning? Would Oxford give me a significant edge globally, or would the IIM MBA still be the more practical route?
