My mom is 52 years old and she was a nurse. Is it possible for her to work abroad after passing IELTS?

There are no guidelines regarding the age of the test takers. There is no set IELTS exam eligibility for the age of the candidates. Anyone can take the IELTS test irrespective of age, gender, race, nationality, or religion; however, the IELTS test is not recommended for those below 16 years of age.
It is not too late to make a move around 50 years old; on the contrary, it can be really fun. Your mother, of course, is migrating to another location and it will take time to build a new social network. She might have to learn another language and ensure that she can somehow provide for herself. That being said, it can be a wonderful, liberating experience to move and relocate to a different corner of the world at that age.
But this needs to be remembered that the minimum work visa age is generally 18 for many countries or 21 years old for some. You also apply separately for a residency permit issued to people at least 18 years old in most countries.
