In most cases, your unofficial GMAT Focus score is final—it matches your official score exactly. But once in a while, a small change might happen if the system flags your test for rechecking. This might occur due to irregularities or technical issues, but it's uncommon.

Your official score report gives more than just the number. It includes breakdowns for each section and updated percentiles. This detailed info helps you figure out what went well and where you can improve, which you don’t get from the unofficial score.

So if your unofficial score looks good, it’s safe to start planning. Just wait for the full report to get the complete picture.

The unofficial GMAT Focus score you see right after finishing the test is usually the same as the official one. It’s calculated using the same scoring system, so changes are very rare.

What can sometimes differ is the percentile ranking. Some test centres may still display percentiles based on the older GMAT version. Since the GMAT Focus uses a new scoring structure, the percentiles you get in your official report may be slightly different.

Also, the unofficial score doesn’t include section-level details or percentiles. You’ll only get that in the official score report, which is sent to you within 3 to 5 business days.
