Senior Assistant Manager in Operations Management
QS gives a good global view, but some parts don’t reflect real job outcomes.
• QS weighs reputation surveys heavily, favoring older schools. For example, INSEAD ranks higher in QS (top 5 globally) but is lower in FT because FT focuses more on salaries and placements.
• QS doesn’t show median salaries or job placement percentages like FT or Bloomberg. For consulting and finance especially, those numbers matter more.
• Schools with strong diversity and research score higher in QS, but that doesn’t always translate into higher job offers.
• If the goal is to land a job in specific regions like the US or UK, employment reports and visa policies are more important than just the QS ranking.
• Program duration and internship availability also impact job outcomes, and rankings don’t cover these.
