Is EDHEC better than Emlyon for MiM if I want to work in finance?

I’m applying for MiM programs in France and trying to decide between EDHEC and Emlyon. My goal is to get into a finance role after graduation — maybe investment banking or corporate finance — and ideally work in Europe. EDHEC seems stronger for finance based on what I’ve read, but Emlyon also shows up in rankings and has some good partnerships.
Which one actually offers better placements, alumni support, and ROI for international students targeting finance?

If career outcomes matter more than just campus life or vibe, then the EDHEC vs. Emlyon choice becomes clearer fast.

  • EDHEC has better global rankings and is especially strong in finance and management roles outside France.
  • Emlyon’s edge lies in entrepreneurship and its strong ecosystem in Lyon — which works if the goal is to stay in France or start something.
  • EDHEC grads report higher average starting salaries and tend to secure more international roles, especially in London and Asia.
  • Emlyon has a broader focus and a bit more flexibility in electives, which appeals to those still figuring out their post-MiM goals.
  • For Indian applicants, EDHEC usually carries stronger brand value during placements back home and abroad.

Someone looking for strong exit opportunities in global companies would likely benefit more from EDHEC. For a more localized, entrepreneurial path ,  Emlyon is worth considering
