Is Data Science Simplilearn any good?
Asked by Disna Rai about 1 year ago
The Data Science masters program by Simplilearn is quite a catch if you ask me. The #1 Data Science Course by IndiaToday on their official page is not something they have made up. I have checked the India Today mails and publishes to find that it’s real.
Basically the program is ranked #1in India and it's a certification course. The program has altogether five different courses that are;
- Python for Data Science
- Data Science with Python
- Machine Learning
- Tableau Learning
- Data Science Capstone
For each of these five courses, you will get a master certification separately. As much as I have gathered about this program, it's actually nice. It is developed in collaboration with IBM and features exclusive IBM hackathons, masterclass, and Ask-me-anything sessions. Unlike other courses available in the same range, this one has better practitioners, labs and projects. It definitely looks like a beer choice to me.
Technologies like Python, R, Machine Learning, Tableau are some of the very important ones in the data science field of work. If you are wondering how much this involves a career perspective, you will suffer a lot. If you want a job in data science, compared to other courses online, I recommend joining this one instead. The IBM collaboration alone provides you with many necessary elements. Plus the network you obtain from this certificate course is better than its competitors.
Though it is nice to consider all this opinion, I recommend looking for a standard data science course from abroad. Compared to a master degree, a certificate program seems a little on the lower end. I’m telling you all this because when you experience the further options after your graduation, you will see how this makes a difference.
Basically for a postgraduate course you select after your masters, it will be more challenging with a certificate degree. You may require to add some extra qualification for that. Similarly, in case of a job, your competitors may be considered above you if you are not exceptional enough. I don’t know where your priority lies but for an overall view I suggest looking for a full-time program abroad instead.
In case you are more interested in doing a standard data science MS course from abroad, let me know. Who knows that your profile may match some really good universities out there. There’s no harm in trying, right? Just let me know if you want any kind of information on this or related topic, thanks.
