Is a 6.5 IELTS score enough for getting into top universities in the UK?

A 6.5 can get you admission to most of the top universities for Masters in UK with an average IELTS score. For competitive and very challenging universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, or Imperial College you must be higher especially when programs are too hard such as law or medicine, and some courses that come under the category of business.

Then these will consider at least a minimum of 7.0. At times, particular subjects have some form of involvement with writing such as medicine, and also other major business students need at least 7.5, and then comes other students' minimum qualification of at least 7.0 for their selection but others that have their least intensive level, their 6.5 may serve for admission for some specific courses in certain universities.

If your current score is 6.5, check the specific entry requirements for your program departments to allow it, given that you have good grades or experience. You will also want to retake IELTS to attain a higher score if aiming for the top-tier universities. However, for medium-tier universities, 6.5 is usually a good starting score.
