Trying to find civil engineering master&rsquo;s programs in the U.S. that won&rsquo;t drain your savings? There are a few universities that are low on cost but still solid in terms of education and scholarship options.
South Dakota School of Mines and Technology is worth looking into,  tuition is around $15k a year, and they regularly give out teaching and research assistantships. Arkansas State is cheaper, about $11k tuition, and they offer something called the Global Student Scholarship that reduces fees further.
University of New Mexico is another underrated one. They&rsquo;ve got assistantships that cover tuition and give a monthly stipend if you get selected. Smaller public universities in less expensive states usually have more flexible funding and lower living costs too.
Apply early, and make sure your SOP clearly matches the faculty&rsquo;s research. That helps a lot with scholarship or assistantship chances.
