Yes, there is no problem in your admission process, You have a strong and genuine reason for the gap. You can mention the reason for the gap in your statement of purpose and it won’t be any problem. Sometimes, students with year gaps are not considered to be competitive enough by the admission committee, now I don’t know the exact reason for it. But most of the year gaps applications gets rejected.

But this won’t happen in your case as you have a genuine reason for taking a break from your studies. Universities may or may not ask for this, but you can also provide a proof that will validate your sickness gap even more strongly. I am not sure if the universities would ask for it, but I think it would be a good precaution.

Here are some good universities in which you can apply for your masters in Germany:

  • Technical University of Munich
  • University of Heidelberg
  • LMU Munich
  • Freie Universität Berlin
  • Humboldt University Berlin

Is there any other university that you were targeting?
