I just got the GMAT Official Guide 2025 and I plan to take the exam in 2–3 months. What’s the best way to create a GMAT study plan from scratch using the OG?

The GMAT Official Guide works better as a toolkit than a textbook,  use each section depending on what you need to strengthen.
&bull; Quant: Spend two weeks on key areas &mdash; algebra, ratios, word problems, and data sufficiency. Do OG practice after concept review. Keep a notebook to track what tripped you up.
&bull; Verbal: Alternate between CR and RC. For CR, focus on one type daily and label each question &mdash; assumption, inference, weaken, etc. RC improves with slow, daily practice &mdash; one timed passage at a time.
&bull; Data Insights: Start in week 2. Do 3&ndash;4 DI questions a day &mdash; tables, graphs, two-part analysis. These combine Quant and Verbal skills. If the OG feels light, Mentr Me&rsquo;s DI drills offer structured difficulty.
By week 6, begin timed sets and take mock sections twice a week. Focus more on reviewing your process than just getting questions right.

If the GMAT is in 2&ndash;3 months, the OG 2025 is a good base , but don&rsquo;t treat it like a book to finish. Use it to build a 3-part plan: Quant, Verbal, and Data Insights.
Start Quant with Number Properties and Word Problems. Go topic by topic. After reviewing concepts through YouTube or GMAT Club, solve OG questions. Focus on why you got something wrong, don&rsquo;t just move on.
In Verbal, focus on Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. Tackle one CR question type at a time,  like weaken or assumption,  and track what confused you. For RC, do a passage a day and practice summarizing each paragraph in your own words.
Data Insights should start by week 2. Practice visual-heavy questions like tables and multi-source reasoning. The OG doesn&rsquo;t have many, so review them slowly and revisit tough ones.
In the last month, combine all sections, take full mocks, and review weak spots deeply.
