After completing an undergraduate degree, one can acquire a master's degree. Usually, it takes two years of full-time study and 30-36 credits of the curriculum.

In the sciences, engineering, and medical fields, master's degrees are frequently given. Several universities also offer postgraduate studies in social sciences and Management in finance, marketing, economics, global logistics & supply chain management, human resource management, and more. In addition, students interested in research to learn more about a particular study area might apply to PhD programmes. In the USA, a full-time PhD programme will take 5–6 years to finish with projects and a thesis.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, you must first pass two entrance exams:

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
  • Exams for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the/International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

The GRE typically consists of three modules: verbal reasoning, numeric reasoning, and analytical writing. The GRE topic test assesses knowledge in a specific subject area, such as biology, chemistry, English literature, mathematics, physics, and psychology.

A student often earns an excellent score if their score falls between 310 and 320. Top universities, however, require scores of at least 330.
The four modules of the TOEFL and IELTS exams are reading, listening, speaking, and writing. The required minimum score is 6.5 overall and 80+. Though for the top US.

Application Expirations
US universities have three annual intakes: fall, spring, and summer. However, because so few universities offer summer admissions, fall and spring are the two main ones. The spring semester begins in January, whereas the Fall semester begins in September.
More scholarships and financial aid are targeted for this semester's Fall admission at most US universities.

It is advised to apply early because the deadlines for each intake are typically 3–4 months before the start date. Therefore, the best time to use it is nine to twelve months before the information. Normally, US institutions review the applications for 8 to 10 weeks.

With a CGPA of 5.83 from your BA and an overall IELTS score of 6.0, your options for graduate studies in the USA can be somewhat limited, but there are pathways available. First, it's important to identify universities that accept students with lower GPA and IELTS scores. These institutions often place a greater emphasis on professional experience, extracurricular activities, and personal essays.

For your IELTS scores, the minimum requirement for most US universities is 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in any band, which you meet. However, higher-ranked universities typically require at least 6.5 or 7.0. Therefore, I suggest considering mid-tier universities or programs that offer foundational or preparatory courses to boost your language skills.

Moreover, focus on strengthening your application in other areas. A well-crafted statement of purpose that clearly articulates your goals and motivation for studying abroad, coupled with strong letters of recommendation, can compensate for your lower GPA. Additionally, gaining some relevant work experience or completing relevant MOOCs can also make your application stand out.

In conclusion, while your current scores do present a challenge, strategic planning and focusing on holistic application enhancement can improve your chances significantly.
