You can, indeed. To qualify for PGWP, the programme must be full-time, and the course must last at least eight months. In addition, students who have finished their undergraduate studies in Canada are given the option to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma, also known as a Graduate Diploma. A Master's programme typically lasts three to five years, while a postgraduate diploma programme lasts only one to two years (maximum). Depending on the university, it can be further divided into two or four semesters.

Here are the top 5 postgraduate courses that cover approximately 90-95% of the total Indian students going to Canada:

Business Management

Colleges with Business Management programmes:

  • Rotman School of Management
  • McGill Desautel
  • University of Alberta
  • Queen's Smith School of Business

Hospitality Management

  • Centennial College
  • Sault College
  • Seneca College
  • Algonquin College

In addition to the top five graduate programmes in Canada listed above, several other courses and academic fields are becoming more critical.

  • Data Analysis
  • Mechatronics and Robotics
  • Information Technology
  • Wireless Networking
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Pharmacy
  • Biotechnology
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Nursing and Midwifery

PG programmes are offered by most Canadian colleges and a few community colleges. A list of some colleges that provide PG Diploma programmes is provided below:

  • Fanshawe College, Ontario

  • Centennial College, Ontario
  • Fleming College, Ontario
  • St. Lawrence College, Ontario
  • College of New Caledonia, British Columbia
  • North Island College, British Columbia
  • Sheridan College, Ontario
  • Algonquin College, Ontario
  • University of Alberta, Alberta
  • Durham College, Ontario
  • Niagara College, Ontario

The annual fee is between $15,000 and CAD 17,000.

To qualify for the programmes mentioned above, one must:

  • 50% or more on your Bachelor's degree.
  • Two backlogs maximum Bachelor'sIELTS minimum overall band score of six

Usually, the demand for a particular occupation in a country determines what courses are provided. Additionally, students are granted an Open Work Visa for one to three years based on their qualifications in Canada, which may ultimately result in permanent residency (PR) in a particular nation. However, suppose they return to India with an international degree, expertise, and exposure from overseas. In that case, they will have an advantage over their Indian colleagues and will find it simple to fit in with multinational corporations.
