Students must obtain the required minimum test scores on the IELTS, TOEFL, or any other exam stipulated by the institution or university to pursue a master's degree in mechanical engineering in Canada. The list of them is below.

Name of the University

  1. McGill University requires iBT:92 in TOEFL and 6.5 to 7 in IELTS
  2. The University of Alberta  requires iBT:95PBT:580 in TOEFL and 6.5 in IELTS
  3. The University of Waterloo requires iBT:90 in TOEFL and 6.5 to 7 in IELTS
  4. The University of British Columbia requires iBT:93 in TOEFL and 6.5 in IELTS
  5. The University of Toronto involves iBT: 93 in TOEFL and 6.5 in IELTS
  6. McMaster University requires PBT:550 CBT:213; iBT:88 in TOEFL and 6.5 in IELTS Queen's University at Kingston requires iBT:88 in TOEFL and 6.5 to 7 in IELTS.

Apart from your IELTS and TOEFL score, your whole profile matters for admissions, especially (and perhaps most importantly) how well it aligns with the university's current priorities (the research and the courses taught). A strong Statement of Purpose (SOP) is required to demonstrate your compatibility and gain admission. I can promise you that you can get into any university you apply to if you strive to be as coherent as you can in your SOP, although the choice will undoubtedly depend on the reader.

Canada is a fantastic location to learn technical skills. The country has a strong job market in this field. After graduation, students can obtain a job and a work visa. In Canada, there is a huge need for mechanical engineers. Thus, taking this course in Canada may make it easier for you to find employment that meets your needs.

Indeed, 7.5 is a good score to be considered for IELTS. As this score shows you have a good command of the English language; good communication skills, and command over grammar. There are various universities that offer 7.5 IELTS as its criteria. Some of them are listed below:

  1. Oxford University(UK)
  2. Harvard University(USA)
  3. Toronto University(Canada)
  4. National University Singapore

But remember various universities have different criteria for their programs too. So, do not forget to check the requirements according to the programs they offer.

Study BBA from IPS University in Final Year. Looking forward for my masters abroad.

This score demonstrates a good command of the language both in writing and communicating.  Various universities accept the score for their programs; some might require a minimum of 7.5 in each section, while others might be satisfied with a lower score. It's always best to check the specific requirements of the institution or organization in question.

One thing you need to keep in mind as there are different criteria for different universities and programs. So, before applying go through their requirements. But, Definitely Yes, 7.5 in IELTS is certainly a good score.

Absolutely, a 7.5 on the IELTS? That's impressive! It shows you've got a solid grip on English, both in writing and conversation. Plenty of schools think so too and would happily welcome you into their courses with a score like that. Just a little heads-up though, each university and program can have its own set of rules. So, make sure to peek at what they're looking for before you send off your application.

When it comes to IELTS scores, a 7.5 in writing is definitely something to be proud of!

From a study abroad perspective, it's a solid achievement that showcases your language skills effectively. Most universities and institutions worldwide typically require a minimum overall band score of 6.5 or 7.0 for admission, so hitting a 7.5 in one specific section like writing is fantastic!

IELTS reflects a strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English, which is a crucial skill for academic success and beyond. While individual program requirements may vary slightly, a 7.5 in writing generally puts you in a very competitive position.

Keep up the good work, and if you have any more questions or need further free guidance with our study abroad consultant, feel free to reach out!
